Artist Statement
— Art is the universal languaje and color is its alphabet —
My work is an exploration of the invisible threads that connect our Caribbean reality to the vast, silent mysteries of the universe. Through my primary series, “Cosmos” and “Trayecto Marciano,” I move beyond the limits of traditional representation to seek a visual dialogue with the infinite.
I view the canvas not as a flat surface, but as a gateway. My process is a layering of intention—blending the structured draftsmanship of my academic training with the raw, spontaneous energy of abstract expressionism. By utilizing mixed media, acrylics, and oils, I create textures that mirror the complexity of the natural world, from the rugged mountains of Sosúa to the imagined landscapes of distant planets.
For me, color is more than a tool; it is a frequency. Whether I am working on a large-scale mural for a luxury resort or an intimate piece in my atelier, my goal remains the same: to evoke a sense of wonder and to remind the viewer that we are all part of a much larger, beautifully complex composition.
My art is an invitation to look upward and inward, finding the extraordinary within the ordinary.

Criterio de Artista
Mis obras son un reflejo del ambiente local y nacional. Los temas de la cotidianidad son mis favoritos y un par de viejos pantalones o una sombrilla rota tienen para mí igual importancia que los colores y la paleta. Por lo general, prefiero trabajar en grandes formatos porque me permiten expresar mi obra en un estilo de mucha mayor libertad. Los colores son también muy importantes en mi caso porque veo el arte como la lengua universal y a los colores como su alfabeto. Normalmente pinto en azul, negro, naranja, gris y verde y muchos de los colores que uso están inspirados en las frutas y los vegetales de mi país. Básicamente mis obras están inspiradas en: El Cosmos, El Cerebro Humano y el Mar. Le llamo mi triángulo motivacional, para mi estos 3 tópicos son inescrutables, prueba Irrebatible de la existencia Divina. Las series más relevantes que he hecho son: Serie “cosmos”. Serie “sol caribeño”. Serie “república dominicana, zona electoral”. Serie “sail away” y serie “panorama de la loma Isabel de torres”. (Escrito por Ramón Gil)
